Part of the nest series. “It took a long time to build. But it was worth it.”
Can you imagine how long it took for this turtle to build this nest? Or let alone climb this tree? However, with perseverance and hard work, this guy looks quite content, project done, up in his nest.
I think about this sort of thing a lot. Well metaphorically, in a world where we crave instant gratification, I find myself working against that. Working with my hands and on my art slows me down. It makes me appreciate more, focuses me on what I’m doing. I find myself craving that in the fast paced world we live in at times.
Each piece is handmade and hand drawn in my studio in Westbrook, Maine. All printed material is produced by Social Print Studio. I use recycled pallet wood for the “canvas” and paint, sharpies and pens for the drawings. All the pieces have very “live edges” so check out all the photos, the tactility of the pieces is hard to capture.
I do accept commissions. Please send an email to chad@creightonstudios.com to set one up.
All pieces can easily be hung on the wall. They are intended to hang inside and out of direct sunlight.
